Overview:
The position will provide HR generalist expertise to the AGS North America Operations Director and his/her staff inclusive of Tolling, Logistics, Customer Service, Planning, Engineering and 2 Plant Facilities (Middleport, NY and Wyoming, IL) to develop, design and administer HR programs and services in a variety of Human Resources areas.
This role will work closely with other HR professionals within AGS to build and improve HR systems, provide sound development coaching, talent management and facilitate change processes. The position is based at our Philadelphia headquarters with frequent, regular travel to our Middleport, NY and Wyoming, IL facilities.
The HR Manager will work closely with the plant leadership teams in both facilities to develop, implement and execute human resources and labor relations strategies and programs in alignment with the near and long term goals for the facilities. The position will functionally report into the Operations HR Manager for AGS and will partner with the North America Regional Operations Director, both located in Philadelphia, PA.
Responsibilities:
Partner with North America Operations Director and his/staff on aligning HR practices with strategic business initiatives.
Lead labor relations for AGS US formulations, provide direct day to day plant labor relations in a proactive manner, provide advice on contract administration and interpretation, and provide guidance on problems / grievances that arise in order to promote sound union/management relations.
Lead all phases of contract negotiations including area wage surveys, economic settlement plan preparation, strike contingency planning, and serve as spokesperson at the bargaining table,
Maintain network of HR and business contacts to facilitate knowledge sharing, transfer and completion of key deliverables.
Work collaboratively with Operations HR Manager to design and deploy strategies, programs and practices that allow the company to attract top talent in a cost effective and timely manner. Manage the seasonal temp process to ensure healthy pipeline and adequate staffing levels are maintained.
Design change management initiatives to drive business results including process and productivity improvement, cost reduction, organizational design and realignment.
Partner with Operations HR Manager to deploy sound people, leadership and team development programs.
Address day to day employee/manager relations and performance management.
Coach Managers to improve employee morale and performance by utilizing effective coaching techniques. Provide guidance and support in administering human resources policies and procedures to ensure that employees receive fair and reasonable treatment to establish a supportive work environment.
Evaluate and implement programs for organizational development assuring retention and competitiveness in the job market. Research, recommend, and implement recognition and/or incentive plans and gain approval and support of business unit and Corporate Compensation.
Work on a variety of special projects related to the human resources discipline and manage implementation of business unit and HR policies and programs. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
Required Education:
BS or BA Degree required; MBA preferred.
Qualifications:
PHR certification preferred.
5-7 years of manufacturing human resources experience at a managerial level.
Labor relations and demonstrated union avoidance experience.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and team building skills.
Demonstrated decision making and problem solving skills.
Ability to translate broad operational and human resources strategies into tactical goals/plans.
Excellent computer skills, knowledge of MS Office
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
Responsive in a timely manner to the management & employees
Understands and demonstrates fundamentals of emotional intelligence

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
