Our client, a boutique law firm in University City, is seeking a Legal Secretary. The Legal Secretary will be responsible for document and file maintenance, answering and directing phone calls, sorting and distributing mail, and providing general clerical and administrative support to a team of attorneys. The ideal candidate is highly organized and detail-oriented with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a real estate law firm. This is a temp - perm position.


Duties include, but are not limited to:

Answer and direct phone calls; promptly deliver messages to attorneys
Sort and distribute mail
Maintain attorney calendars
Word processing and document production
Transcribe dictation using tape dictation system, and prepare correspondence
File maintenance
Coordinating all travel arrangements for attorneys
Other administrative and clerical duties as assigned

Qualifications:

5
years of administrative experience in real estate law
TimeSlips and AIA Contracts experience preferred
Ability to perform transcription from tapes
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Organized and detail-oriented
Strong communication skills; must be able to communicate with clients and co-workers in a professional, effective and efficient manner
Excellent typing skills
Ability to prioritize and multitask
Must be able to work in a professional, and occasionally high-pressure, team environment

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
