Overview VTG is seeking a Millwright to support work at Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCP) in Philadelphia, PAThe Millwright will support a test site to support Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) system research, development, testing, prototype evaluation, and in-service engineering supportSpecifically, supporting a program to provide industrial services for test sites, equipment removal/relocation services, and maintenance services for various systems and equipment for the DDG-51, FFG-62 and DDG(X) Land Base Engineering SitesWhat will you do?o Installs new machines or heavy equipment, and dismantles and installs machines or heavy equipment when changes in the plant layout are required.o Planning and laying out work; interpreting blueprints or other specifications, using a variety of hand tools and rigging; making standard shop computations relating to stresses, strength of materials, and centers of gravity, aligning and balancing equipment, selecting standard tools, equipment and parts to be used.o Installing and maintaining in good order power transmission equipment such as drives and speed reducersDo you have what it takes?o High School Diploma / GED.o Minimum of four (4) years of related experience.o Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance.o Familiarity with navy shipboard machinery.o Familiarity with electrical power systems.
