RESPONSIBILITIESThe Medical Science Liaison functions as the medical expert in specific disease states and pharmaceutical products, representing Verrica Pharmaceuticals and assisting cross-functional partners in many different activities.
The MSL will report to the Vice President of Medical Affairs and work cross-functionally with colleagues in payer relations, professional relations, clinical operations, and commercial areas.
MSL activities will Maintaining expert-level knowledge to engage in peer-to-peer scientific interactions in the payer and physician space Attending congresses to collect information and answer questions at booths Complete payer presentations Create and maintain relationships with industry leaders Work with key physicians in Dermatology and Pediatrics Participate in training sales colleagues and speakers Respond to and document unsolicited requests for medical information according to HCC/Regulatory/Legal guidelines Help manager Investigator Initiated Trials (IITs) from proposal to publication In addition to field work, MSLs will be given the opportunity to branch into other areas including publications, posters and other scientific communications, education and training, or an expanded collaboration with other functions such as clinical development and marketing.
MSLs will also potentially have the ability to present data and disease state information at other forums including advisory boards, speaker training, and other related activities.

REQUIREMENTS Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, or NP/PA) required MSL or related experience in industry highly preferred Exceptional presentation and medical communication skills required Experience in payer presentations highly preferred Experience in training or teaching others preferred (sales, medical, or speakers) Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently and remotely Drug launch experience preferred Must be organized and able to manage multiple projects or tactics at one time, and manage their own dynamic calendar and travel schedule Must be able to work seamlessly in groups and cross-functionally to achieve mutual goals Must be able to manage travel at 40-60%
