About the JobThe Supervisor provides technical, operational and financial leadership for their assigned laboratory section.
He/she sets the professional standard by which the section operates.
The Supervisor establishes the working environment in conjunction with established hospital and departmental policies.
And strictly adheres to and enforces those policies.
What you will do Technical/Scientific:
Ensures that all work performed in the section is accurate and completed within established or agreed upon turn around times.
Reviews all procedures and makes additions and corrections as necessary Evaluates new methods, techniques or equipment and makes recommendations to the director Serves as a technical resource throughout organization and professional community May publish/present scientific presentations/papers Develops, tests, implements and evaluates new and creative approaches to meeting departmental and institutional goals.
Orients new employees and assures completion of all competency assessments and mandatory educations.
Education:
Takes a leadership role in the continuing education of the section staff.
Creates and presents self-developed programs and identifies and enables continuing education opportunities.
Identifies own learning needs and partners with the director or other CHOP resources for remedy.
Participates in national and local professional organizations.
Fiscal:
Strategically plans for and prepares an operating and capital budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
Prepares all capital purchases requisitions when assigned and tracks purchasing and delivery progress.
Monthly monitors the operating budget and reconciles variance.
Maintains appropriate staffing levels and hours worked.
Reconciles labor variance.
Regulatory/Quality Assurance:
Assures that all licensing and accreditation requirements are in full compliance.
Assures that the section proficiency is fully compliant.
Identifies quality assurance markers and assures participation in the departments Quality Assurance program.
Leadership:
Is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe and professional work environment that has an efficient workflow.
Motivates and mentors the staff to achieve high quality, high efficiency and high morale Constantly reviews and improves systems to achieve optimal operation and institutional goals Demonstrates a leadership presence in the face of change, crisis, conflict and problem solving Being a resource for numerous departments throughout CHOP organization and presenting educational materials when necessary.
Supervises and directs all technical and non-technical personnel.
Completes and discusses evaluations by first working day of anniversary month.
Schedule work duties Responsible for all technical work performed Licenses and CertificationsAmerican Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Certification - The American Society for Clinical Pathology - upon hire - PreferredEducationBachelor's Degree Medical Technology or other science related fields RequiredExperience Supervisory experience Preferred At least five (5) years of practical laboratory experience including instrumentation Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Previous supervisory experience Knowledge of computers Ability to handle confidential materials Ability to work the bench when necessary Communication, technical and organizational skills Ability to handle and interpret data Excellent communication skills.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
