Asst res Prof - Support
The Assistant Research Professor - Support is expected to serve a key role in a Principal Investigator's (PI's) scientific program.
Under the PI's direction, will be responsible for the overall success of the lab, be proficient in all techniques that are typically performed in the lab, have outstanding written and oral communication skills, and provide strong mentoring and support for junior scientists (technicians, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, etc.
).
Responsible to design and conduct experiments under the general direction of the PI.
Ideally, this individual will also contribute to the scientific mission of the Cancer Center, through service on committees and other leadership opportunities.
With a sustained history of exemplary contributions to the laboratory and the Cancer Center, including securing independent research funding or the equivalent, the Assistant Research Professor will be eligible for promotion to Associate Research Professor, or in rare cases, to the Laboratory Investigator (tenure) track.
