About the JobThe Clinical Support Associate (CSA) performs delegated clinical and administrative duties in a medical support role within their scope of practice and consistent with their education, training, and experience.
This position does not permit the administration of any medications.
What you will do Clinical Duties Facilitates the provision of care to patients and families by accurately documenting clinical information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) according to National Patient Safety Goals and the CHOP Departmental Policies Performs the following duties according to CHOP Policy and Procedures, including but not limited to Uses an age appropriate approach along with CHOPs Policy and Procedures in obtaining physical measurement which includes heights, weights, blood pressure, head circumference, temperatures, pulse, respiratory rate; reports abnormal findings to provider and/or nursing staff, and documents findings accurately in the EHR; Accurately collects and records patient medications, allergies, pain screening and smoking screening questions according to CHOP Policy; Performs basic laboratory tests on the premises within Point of Care Testing (POCT) standards, maintains refrigerator and QC logs as appropriate; Assists with the collection of and prepares laboratory specimens according to health system standards; Utilizes infection prevention and control procedures according to health system policies; Cleans and sterilizes medical instruments according to department needs and according to CHOPs High Level Disinfection (HLD) Policy and Procedures; Ensures patient exam rooms are well stocked and organized; Assists nursing and/or provider staff with diagnostic or therapeutic procedures including positioning holding, and comforting patients.
Works with Charge Nurse or Administrative Staff in order to maintain efficient patient and schedule flow; Maintains patient areas while assuring compliance standards set forth by regulatory agencies; Manages supplies and equipment in a fiscally responsible manner; Recognizes and respects cultural diversity while being sensitive to the individuals ability to communicate; Prioritizes and performs multiple tasks, is self-directed in the work area and seeks out and performs meaningful work during patient downtime; Floats to other areas as needed Weekend and evening work schedule may be required based on the practice/business needs.
Clerical Duties Performs assigned clerical duties including but not limited to answering telephones, chart preparation, filing, confirming patient appointments.
Licenses and Certifications Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - issued through on organization that requires a hands-on instructor lead psychomotor skills verification (ex.
American Heart Association or Red Cross).

- within 3 months - Required Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Association of Medical Assistants - upon hire - Preferred or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Medical Technologist - upon hire - Preferred Education High School Diploma / GED Required Technical Diploma Medical Assistant Program Required Experience At least one (1) year related work experience.
Required At least one (1) year in medical office setting.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Computer skills that demonstrate health care informatics competency in order to manage patient care, data outcomes, and current and emerging health care technology.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
