A Brief OverviewLi lab of Computational Immunology at CHOP is looking for a self-disciplined, responsible full-time lab technician to manage daily lab activities, participate in basic molecular and cell experiments, and carry out other duties as assigned.
An ideal applicant is expected to be proficient in some or all of the following aspects:
1.
Immunology:
Cell culture (experience of primary T cell culture is a plus); flow sorting; EliSPOT; T cell killing assay; experience with single-chain trimer is considered a big plus.
2.
Cellular and molecular techniques:
Mammalian cell culture; PCR and vector construction; Genomic DNA isolation; RNA extraction; Reverse transcription; Real-time PCR; Cell transfection; Recombinant adenovirus package; Amplification and purification; FACS analysis; Immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescent assay.
3.
Genomics:
scRNA-seq library construction; ATAC-seq library construction; CRISPR KO4.
Excellent communication skills including both speaking and writing.
The applicant is expected to hold a degree in biology/medicine or other equivalent areas.
Individuals with at least 2 years of lab management experiences are preferred.
The PI is an incoming Associate Professor at Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine of Penn/CHOP.
The lab is supported by multiple NIH grants as well as a internal funding.
What you will do Performs research procedures on experimental samples with minimal supervision Formulates and performs complex lab experiments and analyzes & reports the data Performs tasks that require knowledge of advanced techniques and equipment Performs advanced calculations and maintains appropriate log and lab notebooks Assists with planning specific research protocols and procedures Assists in development & troubleshooting of new techniques and ideas May be required to modify scientific methods and protocols (in conjunction with PI) Checks others results for completeness and accuracy May be responsible for training and mentoring new staff Assists in the preparing of grants journal articles, poster and oral presentations May perform routine and non-routine tests / experiments as needed Education Qualifications Associate's Degree Required Bachelor's Degree Preferred Experience Qualifications At least one (1) year laboratory experience Required At least two (2) years laboratory experience Preferred To carry out its mission, CHOP is committed to supporting the health of our patients, families, workforce, and global community.
