A Brief Overview The Associate Director of Volunteer Relations develops strategies and supports implementation of volunteer engagement best practices for the CHOP Foundation.
In this role, both through the completion of his/her own tasks and by supporting the work of others, the Associate Director contributes to the successful planning and completion of board and volunteer initiatives each year, helps coordinate the transition from key volunteer to significant donor for an assigned portfolio of volunteers, provides concierge service to high level volunteers and supports Hospital and Foundation leadership.
The Associate Director assists the Assistant Vice President of Board and Volunteer Relations with managing the operations and strategic initiatives as related to the Foundation Board and the Hospital towards the goal of highly engaged volunteers who are generous and engaged top CHOP donors.
What you will do Manages volunteer engagement continuum for the Foundation Partners with programs including Individual Giving, Campaigns, Research, Corporate and Foundation Relations and Events In conjunction with the Executive Director and other team members, develops and executes strategies to strengthen and advance the engagement of select volunteers involved with the Foundation Board of Overseers, Campaign Cabinet, Boards of Visitors, Corporate Council and event committees Supports the fundraising activities of select volunteer groups Collaborates with frontline staff to ensure that overall volunteer engagement is well-integrated and provides the most effective processes for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individuals Ensures cohesive communication on behalf of Volunteer and Board Relations Interacts and communicates in person, by phone, and by email with board members, major donors, volunteers, prospects, VIPs, Hospital leadership and other stakeholders Acts as a liaison to teams across the Foundation Leads and partners on volunteer initiatives and special projects Both through the completion of his/her own tasks and by facilitating the work of others, the Associate Director ensures the successful planning and completion of volunteer initiatives Provides concierge service to high level volunteers and supports Hospital and Foundation leadership Serves as a Foundation liaison with Wawa Volunteer Services Assists with special projects and drives initiatives to completion Tracks activities and pipeline of Board members and volunteers Develops and assists with meeting logistics, agendas, materials, PowerPoints, and minutes Distributes required research reports for senior management and Boards Reports to the Executive Director of Board Relations Education Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Required Experience Qualifications At least five (5) years of experience in Development working with donors or volunteers.
Required At least five (5) years professional experience, preferably working directly with volunteers, including boards Preferred Skills and Abilities A sincere appreciation for people and how they are each uniquely motivated.
Poised and engaging, empathetic communications style based on natural warmth and enthusiasm.
Fast-paced and results oriented with the ability to work in a timely manner with multiple deadlines and competing requirements.
Strong written, presentation, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to relate well to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Demonstration of good judgement, professionalism and the highest standards of ethical conduct.
Demonstrated understanding of fundraising and the role of leadership volunteers to an organization.
Excellent organizational skills, the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with internal stakeholders, and represent the Hospital appropriately with external volunteers including our most senior volunteer leaders and donors.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Be accurate and attend to details.
Ability to work as an integral part of a goal-oriented fundraising team.
Proven skills in writing and editing excellent grammar and word usage.
Working knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office is a requirement and knowledge of Raiser's Edge and Salesforce is helpful.
