Elsevier Nursing Health Education Technology (NHE-Tech) is developing a unique, personalized licensure exam preparation experience in which live nurse educators guide and support students' studies to enhance their preparation for their licensure exam, in a virtual setting. We use analytics, and adaptive techniques to track students' interactions with content and assessments while providing a highly focused, engaging, and personalized learning experience for students which in turn positively impacts patient care. About the Role:
Reporting to the Software Engineering Lead, we now require a talented, Senior Software Engineer to work as part of Elsevier's nursing and health education technology team enabling engaging and personalized product to be created. Our squads enjoy full autonomy regarding how they go about delivering against long and short-term goals, helping to ensure alignment and quality. This is a high-profile project within Elsevier and the successful applicant's contribution will ultimately be transformative to the business. As a senior engineer on this project, you would responsible for meeting team outcomes, and collaborating with team members. Accountabilities:
o Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements. o Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of complex system components. o Complete complex bug fixes. o Work closely with other development team members to understand complex product requirements and translate them into software designs. o Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews. o Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders. o Resolve complex technical issues as necessary. o Train entry-level software engineers as directed by department management, ensuring they are knowledgeable in critical aspects of their roles. o Keep abreast of new technology developments. o Mentor less-senior software developers on development methodologies and optimization techniques. o All other duties as assigned. Requirements:
o BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experiencerequired o Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) o Experience developing front end web services using React.js/Typescript, HTML, CSS, Accessibility. o Strong knowledge in industry best practices in development. o Knowledge in using and developing applicable tool sets. o Ability to work well with internal and external technology resources. o Knowledge of test-driven development. o Good oral and written communications skills. $100K -- $150K
