The Role As General Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in our continued growth and success.
You will provide strategic legal guidance and support to our company, ensuring that we operate within the bounds of the law and maintain the highest ethical standards.
You will be responsible for managing all legal matters, mitigating risks, and fostering a culture of compliance and ethics within the organization.
Responsibilities Legal Strategy:
Develop and implement the company's legal strategy, aligning it with business objectives and risk tolerance.
Compliance:
Ensure the company complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including those specific to the healthcare sector.
Contracts:
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including customer contracts, vendor agreements, and partnership agreements.
Intellectual Property:
Protect and manage the company's intellectual property, including trademarks, patents, and copyrights.
Litigation Management:
Oversee and manage any legal disputes, including selecting and working with external counsel when necessary.
Corporate Governance:
Advise on corporate governance matters, including board meetings, record-keeping, and compliance with corporate formalities.
Data Privacy:
Ensure compliance with data privacy laws, including the management of data protection policies and procedures.
Employee Relations:
Provide legal guidance on employment matters, including contracts, terminations, and workplace policies.
M&A and Investment:
Support corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and fundraising activities.
Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate legal risks and challenges faced by the company.
Regulatory Affairs:
Stay updated on relevant regulations and advise the company on adapting to legal changes and best practices.
Requirements Juris Doctor (J.
D.
) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in the state bar.
Minimum of 15 years of legal experience, with a preference for candidates with previous in-house counsel experience.
Proven track record of successfully managing legal matters and providing strategic counsel in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of relevant industry regulations and legal best practices.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
High ethical standards and a commitment to fostering a culture of compliance within the organization.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and adapt to changing priorities.
Experience with Series A or later-stage startups is a plus.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
