Sr. Software Developer

Translate requirements into a supportable design and implementation for enterprise systems. Responsible for producing software programs or significant portions of software programs. Architect and design software programs. Develop and code software. Provide technical guidance to junior team members. Product design and implementation presentations to team members and management. Technical support of products including direct customer support and escalated issues. Product behavior and implementation documentation, including design whitepapers and end user documentation. Work on the infrastructure and code of OSIsoft's SQL-based data access products. Utilize ownership of certain product components based on current needs. Develop tests for OSIsoft's products and verify functionality when used in real-world scenarios, especially when used with 3rd party products such as Oracle, SAP BO, and SQL Servers. Serve in the role of PI OLE DB product champion for other developers and engineers. Assist the Center of Excellence, Technical Support and Field Service groups in learning technical details necessary to support assigned product(s) and in troubleshooting product issues (product escalation). Serve as the first contact of OSIsoft's development group (SQL based data access) when working with another office (the team is distributed across multiple offices). Develop Web service implementing OData specification. Utilize experience with implementation of a relational query engine. Keep conceptual integrity of the design, implement various parts of the system, research and lead development of a query optimizer. Utilize skills in Windows .NET platform using Visual Studio IDE, programming languages including C# and C++. Responsible for maintaining existing products for PI OLEDB Enterprise, AF Server, PI SQL Data Access Server and PI JDBC. Maintain C+
libraries that need to be compiled for Windows (using VC+
compiler) as well as for Linux (using gcc compiler).
Minimum Education Requirements:
Master of Science or foreign equivalent degree in Chemical Eng, Mechanical Eng, Electrical Eng, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, CIS or related field.
Minimum Experience Requirements:
Three (3) years of experience in the job offered, or in a related occupation
Alternate Requirements:
Bachelor of Science or foreign equivalent degree in Chemical Eng, Mechanical Eng, Electrical Eng, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, CIS or related field., plus five (5) years of post baccalaureate progressive experience in the job offered, or in a related occupation.
