Position Overview
This is an opportunity to drive LeapFrog forward in its evolving global testing strategies. We are looking for an experienced SQA Manager, Firmware to lead our team of Software Development Engineers in Test and the firmware testing efforts for our platforms, tablets, and handheld gaming devices.
Duties & Responsibilities
Direct responsibility and management of onsite team of Software Quality Engineers and offshore test team.
Manages the planning and execution of firmware testing efforts for new platform firmware releases and firmware updates.
Sets priorities, directs workflow, obtains resources and sets overall expectations pertaining to schedules, departmental budget, and quality.
Leads and drives the firmware test automation strategy and advances the use of test tools and automation (C++, Shell scripting, etc.) where possible.
Responsibility for overseeing all projects within the team. Provides team members direct guidance (both strategic and tactical) to define proper testing strategies.
Reviews test plans, test cases and supports test execution.
Participates in necessary definition, development and execution of product quality assurance strategy, addressing all phases of product development.
Collaborates with Engineering and Production organizations to implement early defect prevention processes.
Defines, tracks and reports quality metrics.
Provides effective written and verbal communication regarding issues, objectives, initiatives and performance to plan to peers and & Experience
Previous experience testing firmware on handheld gaming devices, tablets, mobile devices, or other consumer devices based on embedded Linux
Working knowledge of SQA methodology
Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and desire for quality
Must possess ability to manage multiple priorities in time-sensitive situations and ambiguous requirements
Familiarity with automation and software testing tools, including use of scripting
Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of an organization
Demonstrated ability to work independently as a self-starter who assumes ownership of areas of responsibility
Ability to work in a dynamic team environment, with a mix of local and remote resources
BS, CS or EEor equivalent work experience

years in Software Quality Assurance/Software Quality Engineering roles
5
years managing SQA/SQE/SDET/Software Test Engineering teams or equivalent experience
